“Shanghai Revenge”- A Tale of Mutiny, Murder & Mayhem”

This year we are doing a Story on the Shanghai Tunnels.  We will transform the ship into a place no one wants to be.  So we warn you, tour if you dare.

Between the 1850′s to the 20th Century, bars and pubs in Portland, Oregon would allegedly get men, suitable to be a sailor, drunk or drug them and once they were standing over a hidden trap door in the floor, someone would open the door and the men would fall into tunnels, known as Shanghai Tunnels.  They would kidnap or “shanghai” these men and sell them as slaves to the ships waiting at the waterfront.  They were then shipped off to Shanghai, China, where they were never to be heard of or seen from again.

Once aboard the Irvin you’ll experience those unlucky men’s fate of the early 20th century. So if you think you’re up for the challenge, come aboard the Irvin in October and see if you can escape the Mutiny, Murder and Mayhem of being “shanghaied” on Lake Superior.
